Our reusable bottle is a collaboration with Swiss company SIGG. The bottle is made in Switzerland from one piece of high-quality recycled aluminium sourced in Europe. It is lightweight, durable and free from harmful chemicals including BPA and phthalates. It is made to stay with you for a lifetime and keep you hydrated when you are far away from the tap.

SIGG has been producing high-quality aluminium products since 1908. Since 1993, one of their lightweight and reusable aluminium bottles has been displayed at MoMA in New York.

Details

All our bottles are made with PCR aluminium that is 100% recycled and reusable.

PCR stands for Post Consumer Recycled. After a product has reached the end of its life, if properly disposed of, its material is recycled and used in the production of new goods. The PCR material used in the production of our bottles is reprocessed aluminium from Europe. Once produced and enjoyed for many years, the aluminium bottle body can be recycled again and again.

FAQ

Where is the bottle made?

All our water bottles are manufactured in Switzerland.

How is the bottle made?

It's made of one single piece of recycled aluminium. Every piece of aluminium is extruded by a 600-ton piston stroke and then flows along the piston, transforming it into a cylinder. The cylinder gets shaped into a bottle with the help of up to 26 differently shaped modules, each one moving the metal further towards the final shape. Once the bottle has the iconic form that we all know, the next step is to coat the inside of the bottle with a thin plastic liner to avoid direct contact between the liquids and the aluminium. Once the shape and the inside of the bottle are ready, the bootle is painted on the outside using a screen-printing method.

Does the bottle contain BPA?

All our bottles are 100% BPA free.

What is the liner made of?

The liner is the coating used on the inside of the aluminium bottle. Our bottles are made a polyester-based protective liner (like the ones used in food and drink cans throughout the world). It protects your water from outside tastes or smells.

How to clean the bottle?

Always hand-wash your bottle and do not put it in the dishwasher. Detergents used in dishwashers will affect the exterior paint and internal coating of the bottles.

Also, keep in mind that the warranty does not cover damage to the bottle as a result of dishwashing. The other important reason to avoid the dishwasher? The narrow opening of the bottle doesn’t allow for the best cleaning results in a dishwasher.

Start by rinsing out the bottle and bottle top with hot water after every use. Leave open to dry and always store with the top off. Try to avoid using any harsh cleaning abrasives or brushes on the outside of your bottles as well. This can wear away the covering and any design on the outside and ruin the look of your bottle.

Our best tip is to fill your SIGG halfway with hot water. But be sure to be careful because the bottle can heat up quickly. Add one teaspoon of unscented dish soap and shake. Let sit for a few minutes then rinse with lukewarm water until the soapy water runs clear.

Remember to always make sure that the lip of the bottle is thoroughly cleaned in the same way as the bottle as this is the part that comes in the most contact with your mouth.

How to clean the bottle top

It’s not just the bottle that you have to take care of. Make sure that the top is clean too by rinsing it with hot water and leave it to dry naturally. It is also important to keep an eye on the bottle seal and replace it as necessary.
